Concession Booth Time
Takes a lot of team work to run our concession booth!
Second home game of the 2026 season was on Saturday, Sep 26th. We had an enthusiastic crew working this week. We were all happy that the weather didn’t include rain, which was a really bummer during the first game. We were pleased with the food service setup last week, but knew that the beverages were gonna sell out faster than planned. I mean look at those temperatures.
We got everything cleaned early and had plenty of time to wait for the gates and folks to show up. I think there was a lot of tail-gating going on with such beautiful weather. But once we got going, the pace was really steady.
I tried photographing while running a register, but that was not working out so good. Kept banging the body into stuff while hanging on my shoulder. Sorry, nothing worth while captured during the game.
Half-time rush was pretty standard, lots of folks! The team handled the pressure really well. Kudos to Ellis for keeping things stocked and moving into the booth. Kudos to Blake on keeping a steady flow of popcorn, which sold like crazy.
Crowds slowed down in the fourth quarter and I could capture one decent shot of the ending score board. There was a full moon too, pretty.
We need volunteers to work the concession stand with us. The work is not “hard,” but the day is very long, and that can be difficult on the lower back. But the old adage “many hands make light work” is certainly true here. 🙂
