Concession Booth Time

Takes a lot of team work to run our concession booth!

First home game of the season was on Aug 28th. The ministry only had 6 folks signed up in advance to run our stand, bummer! Aramark recommends 16 people, so they found/pulled people from other groups to add to our manpower. And it was super helpful because the first game had a 7pm kickoff. Gates opened at 5:30pm, so we were selling from 5pm onwards.

Once the gates opened, we were fairly busy until midway thru the second half when the lines seemed to suddenly double in count of people.  I wish I knew the exact count of sales, even just the number of transactions; but for comparison sake, we made and sold an entire bucket of popcorn kernels. A 5 gallon bucket of popcorn–oh my!

We also had a brand new popcorn machine, which was really good! And because we were so busy, the popcorn was fresh for everyone.

We need volunteers to work the concession stand with us.  The work is not “hard,” but the day is very long, and that can be difficult on the lower back. But the old adage “many hands make light work” is certainly true here. 🙂
